When Trump advisor Roger Stone was arrested by the FBI early last Friday morning, CNN was waiting and ready, capturing footage of the pre-dawn raid on Stone’s home in Florida.
Many conservative commentators and President Trump himself claim the Mueller team must have tipped off CNN, though CNN has a detailed blow-by-blow of how their team followed a trail of clues and relied on some good luck to end up there that morning. The Mueller investigation is notoriously tight-lipped with press and there have been very few leaks from the Special Counsel’s office.
Regardless of how CNN ended up there that morning, there’s also the question of why Stone wasn’t given the opportunity to turn himself in and why six heavily armed FBI agents were necessary to arrest him.
Trump told the Daily Caller afterwards that he was, “very disappointed to see that go down that way.”
Following his indictment, Stone said, “The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about!” He proceeded to appear on CNN, ABC and Fox News, both Hannity and Tucker Carlson, and to raise money for his legal defense fund.
Now he’s giving fashion advice on how to dress for your arraignment. And did we mention how the indictment specifically cited Stone citing The Godfather films while discussing how to keep stories straight while testifying.
You cannot make this stuff up.
